ZEN Photography - Ten thousand question

The ten thousand questions are one question.
If you cut through the one question, then the ten thousand questions disappear.

Hi my friends,
I hope you had a nice weekend.
Not all of us have a long weekend,
some of us have to do some work again today, right?
I wish you a great start in this new week, make it a good one.
Thanks you also for the comments yesterday.
I appreciate all your visits.
Enjoy life :))

A lazy afternoon at the beach

A lazy afternoon at the beach

Sailing away to further horizons

Listen to the song of the ocean

Fun in the sun
I do like the ocean wave, actually. I'm born under the sign of Cancer - the sign of the crab - so I like coastal areas and sunny beaches and such - although not the wide-open and deep seas.
~Anjelica Huston~

Hi my friends,
I'm a "cancer" sign zodiac too... and the words of this quote are made for me exactly! ...*smile*...
We've spent an afternoon at the beach yesterday, had a long walk together and have enjoyed the hot sun on our shoulders and the warm wind in our faces. Looking out to the horizon and listening to the loud splashing waves to the shores are the most relaxing feelings you can experience.
They are inspiring and opening up your mind.
I just LOVE to be by the ocean.

This would be paradise...

Man can now fly in the air like a bird,
swim under the ocean like a fish,
he can burrow into the ground like a mole.
Now if only he could walk the earth like a man, this would be paradise.

Hi my friends,
I had no time yesterday for a new post - there are many other projects I'm working on just now. To many, actually!!
I think I have to reset my priorities - once again....*smile*...

Thank you anyway for all the wonderful comments to my last post,
love you all!
Wishing you a wonderful day - in paradise.

The right moment...

If your eyes are blinded with your worries, you cannot see the beauty of the sunset.

 Hi my friends,
This gorgeous sunset was captured 2 days ago out by the Lake where I'm living.
The two fisher men came just in the right moment into the picture to make the photo more interesting
in a way and to give that special ambiance of  peace.

Thanks again for all the comments yesterday.
Wish you a very good start in this new week, take it easy and enjoy life!

Drive safely while kissing a pretty girl...

Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kiss the attention it deserves.

Simplicity

As I have practiced it, photography produces pleasure by simplicity. I see something special and show it to the camera. A picture is produced. The moment is held until someone sees it. Then it is theirs.
~Sam Abell~

Hi my friends,
These words of Sam Abell are my words also.
That's why I love this quote so much because it is exactly what I'm looking for always in my subjects:
"Simplicity".

Thank you very much for the comments from yesterday.
See you again tomorrow!

Get out of my dreams, Get into my car

"Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car"
is a number one single by singer Billy Ocean. Part of its popularity lay in its cutting-edge (for the time) video, which featured cartoon mixed with live-action sequences. The song went to number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Black Singles chart.[1] It also peaked at three on the UK Singles Chart. The title was inspired by a line in the song "You're Sixteen", "you walked out of my dreams, and into my car".

Hi my friends,
Thank you so much for all your wonderful compliments to my ZEN photography from yesterday. I'm very happy about and it makes my day :)
Get out of my dreams, Get into my car! - woo-hoo, let's have a ride! :)

If there is light in the soul...

If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person, there will be harmony in the house.
If there is harmony in the house, there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.

Hi my friends,
Today, I'm back again to my ZEN photography.
I hope you like this picture as much as I do, and the proverb is so full of truth.
Thank you ALL for those wonderful comments and compliments from yesterday.

I wish you all a day full harmony!

Her last flight to Space

The mission had no problems with the weather. The launch was initiated yesterday around Kennedy Space Center at 2:28 PM. The countdown contained no serious technical issues.

will blast into the stratosphere to deliver big spare parts and a load of supplies to the International Space Station

Can you see that little white dot? That's the Shuttle Atlantis only some minutes after the launch!
Atlantis is scheduled to arrive at the International Space Station in approximately two days after launch.

Some impressions captured of all that smog and exhaust - a dramatic picture,
but, is this environmental friendly????

A close up of all that smog...

It was hard to get a parking spot anywhere closer, there were people, people - everywhere!
But I liked the industrial background to this event in high technology.

American Space Science and the American Flag - how more patriotic can I be?
And this as a (legal!) immigrant....*smile*....

Hi my friends,
So much to the launch of the Space Shuttle yesterday. It was her last flight up there. There will be more launches this year but with another ship and for other purposes. I have enjoyed this maybe 10 minutes of  excitement and of capturing these impressive moments.

The search for a parking was more than an hour. But in the end it was worth it!
Thank you for all your wonderful comments to my post yesterday.
Stay tuned, come back tomorrow to my Sunday Wordless Special.
ENJOY!

There is nothing you can see that is not a flower; there is nothing you can think that is not the moon.

Let your mind wander...

Let your mind wander in simplicity, blend your spirit with the vastness, follow along with things the way they are, and make no room for personal views-then the world will be governed....

Hi my friends,

Today another ZEN quote and a photo out of my "Zen Photography Collection".
Thank you for all the comments from yesterday to my orange moon - it looks almost like an (Florida) Orange and not like the moon, right? :) I got one comment from one of my most loyal visitors Joan. Thanks again Joan, good observed and you made me smile for sure with this comment.

I wish you all a wonderful day! Let your mind wander...

The true time of a full moon...

Florida Full Moon

A full moon is often thought of as an event of a full night's duration. This is somewhat misleading, as the Moon seen from Earth is continuously becoming larger or smaller (though much too slowly to notice with the naked eye). Its absolute maximum size occurs at the moment expansion has stopped, and when graphed, its tangent slope is zero. For any given location, about half of these absolute maximum full moons will be potentially visible, as the other half occur during the day, when the full moon is below the horizon. Many almanacs list full moons not just by date, but by their exact time as well, usually in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)). Typical monthly calendars that include phases of the moon may be off by one day if intended for use in a different time zone.
The date and approximate time of a specific full moon (assuming a circular orbit) can be calculated from the following equation:
 d = 20.362955 + 29.530588861 \times N + <br />102.026 \times 10^{-12} \times N^2
where d is the number of days since 1 January 2000 00:00:00 in the Terrestrial Time scale used in astronomical ephemerides; for Universal Time (UT) add the following approximate correction to d:
-0.000739 - (235 \times 10^{-12})\times N^2 days
where N is the number of full moons since the first full moon of 2000. The true time of a full moon may differ from this approximation by up to about 14.5 hours as a result of the non-circularity of the moon's orbit.
The age and apparent size of the full moon vary in a cycle of just under 14 synodic months, which has been referred to as a full moon cycle.

Hi my friends,

I've never thought that math can be that complicated!
I hope you got it.... I don't....*smile*.... The world of Photography is still closer to me than all those mathematical codes and formulas in Astronomy :)

Thanks for all your kind compliments yesterday. I hope all your mothers out there had a fantastic day and you got all spoiled like crazy. I'm still waiting for the phone calls from my kids.... but that's another story!

I've captured this full moon recently and gave him some color too... That's the artist freedom to do what you like with your work, right? Just be creative!

Have a wonderful day!

It is mysterious...

Oh, Heaven, it is mysterious, it is awful to consider that we not only carry a future Ghost within us; but are, in very deed, Ghosts!
Hi my friends,
thank you for all your overwhelming comments from yesterday. I loved to read every single one. For those who still don't know it, I'm giving you the answer to your comment always right there, right after yours. If you come back again after a while, you can read it there.

It's weekend already and a very nice one. We have very nice 89F here - that's 32 C! - it's almost to warm for me to go outside. I like the warm temps but not that hot and it's not even summer now! It was to cold just some months ago and now she complains about being to hot already, right?...LOL... And somewhere up in the North they still have snow coming down, that's almost unbelievable for me, snow in May....  -  o.k..... I don't complain anymore :))

Have a wonderful weekend and tomorrow there will be
my "Wordless Sunday" photo online, o.k.? Stay tuned....

Stormy clouds over the beach

Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come.
~ Robert H. Schuller ~

Hi my friends,
thanks for all your nice comments,
with your words you make my day - every day!

We went yesterday down to the beach and this is what we get to see: a storm approaching with dark hanging clouds over the beach. The last people there finally packed down their tent, getting ready to leave. Some minutes later big rain drops were falling on our heads. I love scenes like that!
Have a wonderful day!

ZEN Photography III

Zen is a school of Mahāyāna Buddhism, translated from the Chinese word 禅 Chán to Japanese. This word is in turn derived from the Sanskrit dhyāna, which means "meditation"

Zen emphasizes experiential prajñā, particularly as realized in the form of meditation, in the attainment of enlightenment. As such, it de-emphasizes theoretical knowledge in favor of direct, experiential realization through meditation and dharma practice.

The establishment of Zen is traditionally credited to be in China, the Shaolin Temple, by the South IndianPallava prince-turned-monk Bodhidharma, who came to China to teach a "special transmission outside scriptures" which "did not stand upon words".

The emergence of Zen as a distinct school of Buddhism was first documented in China in the 7th century AD. It is thought to have developed as an amalgam of various currents in Mahāyāna Buddhist thought—among them the Yogācāra and Mādhyamaka philosophies and the Prajñāpāramitā literature—and of local traditions in China, particularly Taoism and Huáyán Buddhism

From China Zen subsequently spread south to Vietnam, and east to Korea and Japan.

Hi my friends,

thanks for all the wonderful comments from yesterday. Today we'll learn a little bit about "What is ZEN". The text is from Wikipedia - not from me :))

See you again visiting tomorrow too? Where? Here....see you (t)here!
