The Song of the Ocean

We have visited the beach yesterday

Hot sand under your feet and sunshine on your skin and in front of your eyes the endless view of the Atlantic Ocean

I LOVE to listen to the waves!

Don't talk, don't say anything, just listen!

There were also some surfers enjoying the braking waves

Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering.

Saint Augustine

Hi my friends,

I hope you'll enjoy these wave photos like I did it for real yesterday. Watching them it's for me like meditation, like medicine for the soul. Next time I'll make a video, so you will be able to hear the song of the ocean too.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments to my post yesterday :)

Don't forget my CALENDARS 2010 are ready to buy NOW - Christmas is coming soon!

See you tomorrow, at the same spot, at the same time....

Do you know the formula for success?

"Would you like me to give you a formula for success? It’s quite simple, really. Double your rate of failure. You are thinking of failure as the enemy of success. But it isn’t at all. You can be discouraged by failure or you can learn from it, So go ahead and make mistakes. Make all you can. Because remember that’s where you will find success."

~ Thomas J. Watson ~

Hi my friends,

I'm late today with posting, I know. We have visited a friend and went out to the beach this afternoon - and it was very nice, but hot. I shot some beach scenes photos. It was overwhelming to listen to the sound of the breaking waves coming in to the shores, it was "high-tide" time. I will show you some of them maybe tomorrow, so be patience :)

Thank you for all the kind comments to my post from yesterday.
I'm glad you liked that nostalgic photo.

See you tomorrow, see you here!

I don't know exactly where I fit in....

I feel like I've never had a home, you know? I feel related to the country, to this country, and yet I don't know exactly where I fit in... There's always this kind of nostalgia for a place, a place where you can reckon with yourself.

Sam Shepard

Sunrise - Sunset

Sunrise in Key West

Sunset in California

out of "Sunrise - Sunset" Song with Perry Como

Sunrise sunset, sunrise, sunset,
Swiftly flow the days,
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers,
Blossoming even as they gaze . . .

Sunrise sunset, sunrise, sunset!
Swiftly fly the years,
One season following another,
Laden with happiness and tears . . .

I can relax now...

I feel like I've reached an age where I can relax a little bit with the knowledge of what I've been through, take all that experience and use it. I love the challenge of trying to get back to where I've been, and beyond it.

Reflections on human nature?

What is government itself but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.

The wheels of time...

Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals, and values are in balance.

The same sky....

We all live under the same sky, but we don’t all have the same horizon.

~Konrad Adenauer ~

Hi my friends,

It's me again with a new post.
I made this photo on our travels in South Dakota and I like the quote so much.

Simplify your life...

As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler; solitude will not be solitude, poverty will not be poverty, nor weakness weakness.

~ Henry David Thoreau ~

Hi my friends,

thank you again for every visit and for all your nice comments on my blog.

Of course, I appreciate also all the "I like it-thumbs up" on Facebook too. I think, Facebook is "stealing" some of my visitors from my blog here.... yes stealing...!
And I think I know the answer why. It's probably easier just to click on a pre made answer choice "I like" than to form some words of appreciation on your own... right? :)

Anyway, how ever it is easier for you, come here or go there and have a look and enjoy my daily posts. I'm happy to share my photos with you.

See you tomorrow!
Sunshine to you,
Susanne :)

Spurs and Cowboy Boots

A spur
is a metal tool designed to be worn in pairs on the heels of riding boots for the purpose of directing a horse to move forward or laterally while riding. It is usually used to refine the riding aids (commands) and to back up the natural aids (the leg, seat, hands and voice). The spur is used in every equestrian discipline. There are rules in most equestrian organizations about spur design, use and penalties for using spurs in any manner that constitutes animal abuse.

The very old word derives from Anglo-Saxon sputa, spora, related to spornan, spurnan, to kick, spurn; cf. Medieval High German Sporn, modern German Sporn, Dutch spoor, Frisian spoar. The generalized sense of "anything that urges on, stimulus" is recorded in English from circa 1390.

For more info about spurs read here

Hi my friends,

thank you for your kind comments yesterday!
Today I'm short with words... I'm on the way out to see some people.
Stay with me and see ya' tomorrow. Where...? ...here!...LOL...

Enjoy your day!

Waiting is painfull...

Waiting is painful. Forgetting is painful.
But not knowing which to do is the worse kind of suffering.

~ Paulo Coelho ~

Hi my friends,

thanks again for all the wonderful comments yesterday. It makes me proud to see how many people like my photography and it makes me happy to share it with YOU, day by day!

And do you know what? The countdown is on now to my next blog anniversary, that will happen in 10 days! I can't believe it that I will be blogging already for 3 years!
Where is the time gone so fast...? :)

I've started with this phenomena "Blog" back then when I was living down in Key West, looking for another, more vivid media than my website it was to show the world my photos, and not knowing anything about blogging and what I was doing at all. I was building up quick a great fan community. I got fans and I got also a lot of fantastic friends allover the world: YOU!

Without you my friends I never could get so "old" with this blog, because YOU ALL are the reason to keep me going! Come back and let's celebrate with me in 10 days my 3th Birthday, o.k.?

Stay with me, I have still a lot of pictures to share with you! :)
Susanne
