A thousand foot fishing line...

Possessing much knowledge is like having a thousand foot fishing line with a hook,
but the fish is always an inch beyond the hook
ZEN proverb

Hi my friends,
I don't know anymore, where I have this proverb from. But I know for sure where I made this photo of  these cute two fishing girls....*smile*.... My memories are not all gone in this heat, thanks God! :))
I wish you a great Saturday. Tomorrow is my "Wordless Sunday" again, come back and visit me.
It's HOT down here in Florida, the best thing to do to stay cool is: Stay home! :))
See ya'...

The "Hungry Ghost Full Moon" at the Beach

Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star.
~W. Clement Stone~

You can be the moon and still be jealous of the stars.
~Gary Allan~

Yeah we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun.
~John Lennon~
Hi my friends,
This is now my first attempt to photograph the moon. It was yesterday at the beach - and it was a very special and beautiful moon. I had to wait quit a while until I saw him BIG and orange, rising from the horizon over the Atlantic Ocean. It was a great experience!
I know, these are not the best pictures at all, but as I told you, it was my first try.
I'm not sure if I will ever get an expert in photographing the moon, the stars or the universe...LOL...

he IS the expert and the master on his blog in these kind of photography and ask him, why this moon has such an interesting name like " The Hungry Ghost Full Moon".
I don't know the reason why :))
Thank you for all your kind comments to my wordless Sunday photo yesterday, my friends.
I wish you a wonderful week ahead.

Beach Fun

Lifeguard is always on duty on a crowded beach - captured in Jetty Park, Cape Canaveral

Everyone of us is some when a beginner with something. Learning to surf is hard. I watched this guy very long, he was never giving up to give it another try over and over again. I'm sure, one day he will master riding his board perfectly.

Kids always have fun - also in small waves :)

Hi my friends,

Sitting at the beach is fun, that's what I like to do: watching all the life going on around me, listen to the waves, to the screaming sea gulls, watching the pelicans flying over my head and to realize how fast time is going by. To feel the warm breeze on my skin is paradise for me - not just for me, I know, all of us love that!
Thank you so much for all the kind comments here and over there on facebook.
It makes me happy when I see that you like my photography :)
Have a nice weekend!

The fisherman knows the sea...

The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore.

Hi my friends,
Thank you for the kind comments from yesterday - and for today - and for tomorrow :))
Have a wonderful day, stay cool and stay protected.

Remove Ego...

"I - Want – Peace, I is ego, Want is desire; Remove ego and desire and you have peace."

Hi my friends,
Thank you very much for your kind comments to my Wordless Sunday #25, they are all very much appreciated. I had no time to post anything yesterday, we had a lot of things going on.
But today you can see a photo I made "at the rocks" out in Jetty Park, Port Canaveral. And I've found a quote from what I think it matches well the peaceful ambiance in the picture.
I wish you ALL a peaceful day too!

Jetty Park at Port Canaveral, FL

A Manatee and a Sea turtle, captured in Jetty-Park, Cape Canaveral

Hi my friends,

Yesterday I have seen for the first time in my life for real a Manatee swimming in open waters. It was very impressive to see this protected animal of the sea in its natural habitat. Later on I've spotted a sea turtle peeping out from the water.

***

is one of the most popular recreation spots in Brevard County. Besides the 4.5 acre family beach with its designated areas for swimming and surfing (lifeguards on duty year round), one of this park's best-loved features is the 1,200 foot Malcolm E. McLouth Fishing Pier - open 24 hours, paved, lighted, equipped with fish-cleaning tables with running water and fully accessible to the physically challenged. Specially designed beach wheelchairs give access both to the beach and pier. A recently renovated and expanded building on the boardwalk houses an air-conditioned refreshment center and a bait and tackle shop.

I wish you an interesting and fun day too!

Hi my friends,

It's Monday again. I hope you had all a good start in this new week and I wish you a good time also for the rest of the week. Take it easy, no stress.... o.k.? I know, an early retired person - that's me - can say things like this so easy, right?? They forget and don't know what's stress anymore....LOL...

The Tide is Rolling to the Shores...

If you spend a whole afternoon just eating popcorn and watching football, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But if that's all you do, you get swept along with the tide, without any idea of where you're going.
~Roland Joffe~

Hi my friends,
Thank you all for the kind comments to my post yesterday.

Today it's a photo up of the rolling in tide at the beach.
I love to see this and to hear the splashing waves, I love to feel the force of nature,
listening to the song of the ocean. It's very relaxing and inspiring.

Have a great Friday - Weekend is here, yeah!

Shadows at the Beach

In photography there are no shadows that cannot be illuminated.
~August Sander~

Hi my friends,

This is a picture of David and me yesterday at the beach.
It was a hot day yesterday and we've decided not to go to the beach before 7 p.m. and it was a good decision. The light at the beach was very nice and the shadows were getting long and longer, as you can see
it in our fun self portrait above.:))

I wish you all a fabulous day - Thanks for all the comments!

Hide and Seek with a Ghost Crab

It was not easy to get a ghost crab in front to my camera, these little creatures were way to fast and tricky. This fellow came back up and disappeared quickly as soon as it saw me - we had a sort of  hide and seek situation together.

Ghost crabs,
also called sand crabs, are crabs of the genus Ocypode, common shore crabs in many countries. Characteristics of the genus include one claw being larger than the other, but this difference is not as marked as in male fiddler crabs.
These crabs are called ghosts because they are translucent, and because of their ability to disappear from sight almost instantly, scuttling at speeds up to 10 miles per hour, while making sharp directional changes. These creatures have two black eyes, with very good 360° vision.
The ghost crab tunnels down four feet into the ground at a 45° angle, creating 1–2 inches (25–51 mm) wide holes, which speckle the beach. At dusk, these crabs will sprint to the ocean in order to obtain oxygen from the water which washes over their gills, and in the beginning of the summer, females will release their eggs into the ocean.
In the south eastern United States, Ocypode quadrata is frequently seen scurrying along beaches between sunset and dawn.
The common ghost crab or smooth-handed ghost crab (Ocypode cordimana) is found on the northern Australian coast from the Kimberley region of Western Australia to New South Wales, being particularly common in New South Wales. It is also found in the Indo-Pacific region.

Hi my friends,
Thank you for all the wonderful comments in the last few days. Here on my blog or over there on my Facebook, it doesn't matter, I have enjoyed every single one very much.
I have some "homework" to do today and that includes also all that household stuff like laundry and cleaning... what I really don't like to much... Well, it has to be done, let's start with now, get over it :)

I wish you a wonderful and perfect day!

Birthday is over...

Toleration is the greatest gift of the mind; it requires the same effort of the brain
that it takes to balance oneself on a bicycle.
Helen Keller
Hi my friends,
Birthday is over..... I'm one year older....but, in fact, what's another year, right?
I still feel like 23 in my heart....LOL...and on some days like 99 in my bones....LOL...my brain goes weaker every day and my glasses are getting stronger....LOL... but my camera is still the same! ;)

THANK YOU ALL for the great and wonderful Birthday wishes my friends.
Yes, I had a wonderful day! And now back to the real life again.... :))

Living Between Boxes...

Yep, there are still some boxes waiting to be put away in the right space

Hi my friends,
I'm back, yes....and still tired from all those "not used to" movements of a moving event...*smile*.... but we survived everything very well and are living now (still) between some boxes standing around, not knowing by now where to go with all our stuff. This apartment is way smaller than the old one was, but it is also way prettier and has a lot of charm - and
ONLY 5 walking minutes away from the beach - how great sounds that? :)

Thank you so much for all the last comments to my post, to my post before and to my blog in general. Your kind words bring always a big smile on my face, like right now :))

After 4 days, finally we got the Internet connections back. Thanks for standing with me, my friend!
Susanne

Of course, I will continue with my promotion of my "Fine Art Photography Artist site" and I'm hoping that some when, someone out there will buy one of my photos.
My slogan remains still:
